In a world filled with uncertainty and challenges, many of us find ourselves grappling with profound questions about the meaning of life and our place in the world. It is in these moments of existential reflection that a journey towards personal growth and self-discovery often begins.

Based on existential counseling practice, I am dedicated to guiding you through this journey of self-exploration. In a response to the pressing global issues of our time, such as climate change, ecological loss, and social unrest, I seek to provide a safe and nurturing space for you to connect with nature, reflect on your innermost values, and help you uncover the meaning and purpose in your life.

Existential counseling helps people explore the big questions in life—like Who am I? What is my purpose? What does it mean to live fully? It’s not about fixing problems, but about understanding yourself more deeply and finding your own way forward.

It focuses on key themes like:

  • Freedom and choice – You are free to shape your life, and with that comes responsibility.

  • Meaning and purpose – Life doesn’t come with built-in meaning; we each create our own.

  • Anxiety and uncertainty – These are usually natural parts of being human, and not always signs of illness.

  • Death and loss – Facing the reality of life’s limits can help us live more fully.

  • Connection and isolation – We seek deep relationships, yet also face our own inner worlds alone.

Existential counseling is based on ideas from philosophers like Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, and Sartre, and later developed by therapists like Viktor Frankl, Rollo May, and Irvin Yalom. It grew out of philosophy, not medicine, and sees people as complex, thoughtful, soulful beings—not as problems to be fixed.

Existential counseling is helpful when you're:

  • Feeling stuck or unsure about your path

  • Dealing with loss, big life changes, or identity questions

  • Searching for deeper meaning or purpose

  • Wanting to live more authentically

It’s a space to explore life’s challenges honestly, openly, and with support.

Existential Counseling and Nature

Existential counseling invites individuals to explore the core of their being—questions of meaning, freedom, responsibility, isolation, and mortality. It is a deeply human approach that recognizes the complexity of lived experience, and encourages honest reflection on one's place in the world. Nature, in its vastness and intimacy, offers a profound mirror for that reflection.

Rooted in the Same Questions

Nature connection is not merely about spending time outdoors—it is about feeling part of something larger than oneself. This echoes the existential desire to locate meaning in the face of uncertainty. The natural world confronts us with beauty, decay, renewal, and impermanence—exactly the themes existential counseling explores.

Where existential counseling brings these questions into conscious dialogue, nature provides a living, breathing context in which they can be deeply felt and experienced.

Regulation and Reflection

Being in nature often calms the nervous system, softening defenses and opening space for deeper emotional exploration. In this state of openness, existential questions can be approached not only intellectually but somatically—through sensation, presence, and felt experience. A walk in the woods or sitting beneath a tree can help you feel their aliveness, their solitude, their freedom—and their connection—all at once, just as yours.

Belonging Beyond the Self

Existential counseling emphasizes authenticity and relationship—with self, others, and the world. Nature offers a profound relational field: a place where one can be seen and held without judgment. In this, people often rediscover a sense of belonging that transcends social constructs—a quiet affirmation that they are part of a living system, not separate from it.

In essence, existential counseling and nature connection both seek to restore relationship—to self, to meaning, and to the larger web of life. Together, they offer a path toward grounded presence, existential clarity, and soul-deep integration.

Through a holistic approach that integrates nature, mindfulness, breathwork, and introspection, SoulEtude helps you embark on a profound journey of personal growth.
